I have been knee-deep in learning storytelling from one of the best storytellers in the world, Matthew D.

The book I have been binge-reading was just released this year and is called Stories Sell.

It’s a book specifically designed to show you how to tell effective stories to convince people to do something. To move an audience through emotion.

It sounds manipulative, but honestly, everything depends on the story nowadays.

Here is a retention graph on a successful video with over 350,000 views…

Do you see that dip in the very beginning? You may notice that after the “slide” stops, it’s relatively stable for the remainder of the video…

That dip has been there since the beginning of time for my YouTube channels and me. It has to be the introduction.

I follow a ton of YouTubers, and one thing they do after finding an attention-generating video format is to switch it up every now and then to see what happens.

So following the “Stories Sell” format, I’m going to change up how I do the next few videos on this channel and see if I can stop the huge dip.

Some of the biggest YouTubers in the world do not “restate” the title… they usually launch in a story almost immediately.

So that is what I’m going to do.
