$70k in profit at 19 years old

Heyyyooo!

I was listening to a podcast and came across this kid who made me insanely jealous and insanely inspiring at the same time.

I’m excited to share this with you as just hearing it really makes me want to get my side hustles going even stronger, let me know if you feel the same way after I explain the story…

A guy named Jack Fleming started a seasonal lawn business when he was just 13 years old.

He eventually grew it to over $300,000 in revenue (with $70k profit)

And he did it with one specific trick that even I don’t immediately think of…

One of my first websites was about luxury watches.

My first luxury watch was a Tag Heuer, and I bought it from the revenue of that site; click the link below to check out “Own The Watch,” it’s pretty much my old blog but in email form straight to your inbox!

He hired his classmates and paid them a wage.

Boom!

When he first started, he only made $3 per hour. But that was the springboard he needed to build up a multiple 6-figure sum.

How inspiring is that?

I wish I had HALF that get-up-and-go at 19. I’d be a lot farther along than I am right now!

The key takeaways are these:

  • Not everything needs to happen online, look local for where you can make a difference

  • Hire help and scale. You may not keep all the rev, but you can at least keep some of it with less work

  • Collect reviews of satisfied customers to help with your reputation

  • Set up a business to exit. If you can’t sell your business in the future, you are probably wasting your time.

Do you have any ideas for local businesses? I’d love to help you vet them!
