In the previous email, we talked about how in order to really grow on YouTube you had to create very similar content over and over again, but that there is one BIG drawback to it.

Ok, so I admit to being a nerd and one of my favorite things to do to get my mind off things and unwind is to watch grown men play a video game called Super Mario Maker (SMM).

Check out these two channels…

and this one…

Ryukahr average 100k views per video at over 800k subscribers, where as GPB averages around 15k views with around 330k subs.

This is despite both creators starting around the same time creating similar content.

Both channels are successful, but Ryhkahr’s channel has grown substantially more than GPB, and it’s because Ryukahr found and stuck to a well-defined format and recipe for his videos.

He farmed Red Viewers (remember we talked about that last week)

Ryhkahr realized that when he stuck to one recipe for his videos, he got more views.

However, it painted him in a corner. He had to create the same kind of content over and over again.

But creating that content over and over again got him consistency which made it easier to pitch sponsors. He now has sponsors for every video he creates on that channel and the sponsors know that at least 100k people will see it when they pay.

So it may be boring for him, but it’s totally worth it.
